147. Ingrid T.                                                    Brighton, 21.7.1966

[im Original] Dear Susanne,

Thank you very much for your letter, please forgive me for not answering sooner, but we have been rather busy.

We have two Swedish students (boys) staying with us, then when they go home, there are two Swedish girls coming.

I hope that by the time you receive this letter you will have found suitable accommodation – have you secured a place at Reading University? We look forward to seeing you when you do come to England.

With regards to the holidays in Scotland that you mentioned in your letter, I haven’t any knowledge about these kind of holiday, I would suggest that you write to the Scottish Tourist Office in Edinburgh, and they would most likely send you all the details –

Carole wrote to Ingrid F.’s young sister, and she had a reply at Christmas, she answered that letter, but so far she hasn’t received a reply <–> she was rather disappointed, but anyway I will put Ingrid’s address at the end of this letter. We only received a postcard to let us know of her safe arrival in Sweden.

How has your weather been in Germany this summer – so far we have been fairly lucky, but these last two days it has been cold, wet and windy.

We have finished the building along the back of the house, that we had started when you were here last year, and it has been a great advantage to us – it was well worth all the work we put into it.

This year we went abroad for the first time for our holidays (in early June) to Ostend, – and enjoyed ourselves very much – we went to various places by coach whilst we were staying in Ostend, and I think we shell be going back again, probably next year.

Carole goes to a secondary school in September, so we have the job of fitting her up with a new school uniform – she is going to Longhill School – built two years ago – and is very modern – we were shown over it and it has every amenity – I think she should enjoy it there.

Well, I must close now and I hope you manage to get accommodation all right.

Goodbye for now,

Yours sincerely,

Mr and Mrs T.,

Carole, Michael

and Lassie.
